Naming Rights
Speedway Motorsports Inc., parent company of Las Vegas Motor Speedway, has blazed a trail for naming rights in motorsports with the partnership between SMI and Lowe's Home Improvement Warehouses. The Lowe's Motor Speedway, formerly Charlotte Motor Speedway, is but the first success in an ongoing company-wide effort to forge lasting relationships between America's best companies and America's best speedways. In 2002 Speedway Motorsports Inc., was proud to announce yet another naming rights partnership with Infineon Technologies. The Infineon Raceway, formerly Sears Point Raceway, is the second track in the SMI family to reach such an agreement. Las Vegas Motor Speedway is unique in motorsports in the number of racing facilities we have to offer. Not just a Superspeedway, Las Vegas Motor Speedway also features "The Strip", widely hailed by fans and drivers alike as the finest facility of its kind in America. In addition to these headline facilities, our facility encompasses a 3/8-mile paved oval ("The Bullring"), 0.5-mile dirt track, Moto-Cross course, Go-Kart track, 0.33-mile oval Legends track, a BMX track, a 1.8-mile outside road course, and an inside road course. As each of these serves a different population in the racing community, each of these facilities can help deliver name recognition and sponsor identification to loyal motorsports fans in the Southwest and nationwide.
