The season's sixth NASCAR Whelen All-American Series event at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway provided a boost for most of the short track's divisional points leaders on Saturday night.
Five points leaders widened their margins over second place to double digits, with another driver breaking a tie at the top thanks to a milestone victory. Jimmy Parker Jr. (NASCAR Super Late Models), Sam Jacks (NASCAR Super Stocks), Amilleo Thomson (USLCI Bandolero Outlaws), Landon Gresser (USLCI Bandolero Bandits) and Racer X (Skid Plate Cars) all gained ground on their peers with strong performances, with Doug Hamm's 50th career Bullring win helping him break a tie with Brian Reed for the NASCAR Modifieds division points lead.
In addition, Vinny Raucci Jr. won his third consecutive NASCAR Bombers feature to climb into a tie for the points lead with Kyle Jacks with 138 points apiece. Michael Todd Glazier lost a single point on the field after Saturday night's action, but continues to lead the USLCI Legends class with a 141-131 margin over second-place Branden Giannini.
The USLCI Thunder Cars and Jr. Late Models did not run over the weekend, but are part of the racing lineup when action returns to the 3/8-mile paved oval on June 16 for the Chris Trickle Classic. Drivers in nine of The Bullring's 10 full-time classes will accumulate points through Championship Night on Saturday, Oct. 6, with the Jr. Late Models divisional title decided at the Senator's Cup Fall Classic on Oct. 20.
Spectators can save money by buying tickets in advance through the LVMS Ticket Office at 800-644-4444 or online at LVMS.com, and all children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. The Bullring concession stand offers great prices, including $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beers.
