Saturday was a great night for Bullring drivers Jimmy Parker Jr., Doug Hamm and Landon Gresser.
The talented trio used strong performances on Pack the Track Night to mathematically clinch season championships in their respective divisions. Parker is the 2018 Bullring NASCAR Super Late Models champion, while Hamm wrapped up the NASCAR Modifieds class and Gresser secured the USLCI Bandolero Bandits crown.
It's the first Bullring season title for Parker, who carries an insurmountable 317-284 points lead over six-time track champion Scott Gafforini into Championship Night on Oct. 6. Hamm clinched his title ahead of Pat Petrie with a 225-175 advantage in points, and the championship ties Hamm with Phil Goodwin and Caden Carlin for second all-time in Bullring season championships with five.
Gresser is a perfect 11-for-11 this season in the Bandits division, and his lead is too much for second-place Sabastian Lafia to overcome with one points weekend remaining.
Other divisions are not so cut and dry, especially the NASCAR Bombers class. Vinny Raucci Jr. and Kyle Jacks will enter Championship Night tied atop the standings with 253 points after both were disqualified for rules infractions on Saturday night.
Adam Simon is third with 237 points after winning the 25-lap feature at Pack the Track Night, and it should be an action-packed finale for the always interesting Bombers division.
Sam Jacks - the 2016 NASCAR Bombers champion - needs just seven points to clinch the NASCAR Super Stocks class ahead of Mason Sargent, while USLCI Bandolero Outlaws points leader Kaden Crouch is 13 points away from topping Amilleo Thomson for that division's championship. The USLCI Thunder Cars title is down to Chris Bosley and Doug Germano, with Bosley holding a 197-192 advantage in points with one event remaining.
The USLCI Legends division is up for grabs, with points leader Michael Todd Glazier holding a slim 243-241 lead over Jaron Giannini. Branden Giannini is just seven points back at 236, and Jason Irwin - the winner of six consecutive races at The Bullring - is fourth with 235.
In the Skid Plate Cars division, Cindy Clark needs to finish 12th or better on Oct. 6 to earn the nine points she needs to clinch that season title over defending champion James Brazzeal.
The Junior Late Models did not compete at Pack the Track Night, with Kyle Keller leading that division heading into a two-race finale at the Senator's Cup Fall Classic Oct. 19-20.
Spectators can save money by buying tickets in advance through the LVMS Ticket Office at 800-644-4444 or online at LVMS.com, and all children 12 and under are admitted free with a ticketed adult. The Bullring concession stand offers great prices, including $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beers.
