The 2020 US Legends Cars (USLCI) Asphalt International and Bandolero West Championships is heading to Las Vegas. The event will take place at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway Oct. 15- 17.
More than 100 drivers from across the United States and a few international destinations descend on this annual event, which typically rotates from West Coast to East Coast each year. Last year’s event was held in Atlanta.
“We usually attract people from all over the country, and in the past we have had guys from Canada come down,” said Ryan Ux, Western Regional Manager for USLCI. “We had a driver from Japan race with us at the last national that we had here. Because of Covid-19, there are certain restrictions in place right now, so we are not able to get some of those out of country people right now.”
In addition to restrictions on competitors, spectators also will not be permitted for this event.
Top racers expected to see at this weekend’s race are Las Vegas’s Jaron Giannini and New Mexico’s Jason Irwin, a perennial contender at the Bullring.
“The last time we raced here Jaron Giannini won the Young Line Division, and this year he’s racing in the pros,” Ux said. “So, that’ll be a big jump for him. Jason Irwin has won in the past two, and he’s actually one of the top drivers throughout the West Coast,” said Ux.
Many of NASCAR’s top stars started their careers in Legends including two-time Cup Series champion Kyle Busch and 2018 Cup champion Joey Logano.
The points for this race will be going towards regional championship points.
