The long wait is over for short track racing fans, as action returns to The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway with Back to School Night presented by Whelen Engineering this Saturday.
All area students, teachers, faculty and staff will be admitted free to the 3/8-mile paved oval by showing a valid ID on the special night. Eight feature races await the track's visitors, who will be enjoying top-notch short track racing after a seven-week hiatus to avoid the summer swelter.
The NASCAR Super Late Models, 602 Modifieds, Bombers and Super Stocks will be taking to the track, along with USLCI Legends and Bandoleros and Skid Plate Cars. Back to School Night is one of just three events remaining in The Bullring's 2019 regular season, with crucial points up for grabs in the divisional season championship races.
Points leaders Chris Clyne (NASCAR Super Late Models), Doug Hamm (NASCAR 602 Modifieds), Vinny Raucci Jr. (NASCAR Bombers) and Sam Jacks (NASCAR Super Stocks) all will be in action on Saturday as they chase track titles. Other points leaders Jaron Giannini (USLCI Legends), Dennis Dowell (Skid Plate Cars), Chloe Lynch (USLCI Bandolero Outlaws) and Ashton Leonard (USLCI Bandolero Bandits) also will be looking to protect their margins this weekend.
Gates open for spectators at 5 p.m. Pacific Time, opening ceremonies are set for 6:55 p.m. and racing follows immediately.
One of the most affordable entertainment options in Las Vegas, the Bullring's annual series features family friendly concession prices that include $2 hot dogs and Coca-Cola products and $3 Budweiser beers.
