Alcohol Funny Car driver Maddi Gordon joined forces with team owner and racing icon Ron Capps on Thursday for a press conference at Del Frisco’s in Las Vegas, where the pair shared exciting updates, discussed their plans for the 2026 season, and looked ahead to this weekend’s 4-Wide Nationals at The Strip at LVMS.
In front of a packed room of media, family and motorsports insiders, Gordon spoke about her journey in drag racing, her growing role within Ron Capps Motorsports, and the momentum she hopes to carry into this weekend’s high-stakes event.
At just 20 years old, Maddi Gordon has already built an impressive racing resume. Born and raised in Bakersfield, California, she was practically raised at the track. Gordon got her start in Junior Dragsters, quickly showing promise with her fierce competitiveness and natural reaction time. She climbed through the ranks to compete in Top Alcohol Dragster, where her talent and dedication earned her recognition across the NHRA community.
Teaming up with multi-time NHRA world champion Ron Capps represents a significant step forward in Gordon’s career. Capps spoke highly of Gordon during the event, calling her “a force in the making” and praising her drive, maturity, and race craft. “She’s exactly the kind of talent we want in this organization,” he said. “She brings something special to the table.”
Gordon, in turn, shared her excitement and gratitude. “Being part of Ron Capps Motorsports is an opportunity I don’t take lightly,” she said. “I’ve looked up to Ron my entire life, and now to work alongside him is surreal. I’m fired up for what we’re building here.”
She also emphasized her enthusiasm for the upcoming 4-Wide Nationals, one of the most thrilling events on the NHRA calendar. “Vegas brings the energy — and I’m ready for it.”
The event capped off with the pair expressing their shared goals for this season and next season and their commitment to pushing boundaries on and off the track.
