The iconic Las Vegas welcome sign is coming to Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

A 15-foot-tall replica of the world-famous "Welcome To Fabulous Las Vegas" sign will be a must-see attraction in the speedway's fan-engagement area during this weekend's NASCAR tripleheader. Fans will be able to take photos in front of the sign and are encouraged to share them on social media throughout the race weekend, and the display also will be equipped with a prize wheel for visitors to enjoy.

The display will be a touring experience that will travel to other Speedway Motorsports Inc. facilities throughout the year to promote the city of Las Vegas as a travel destination. The replica - mounted on a 17'x18' platform - was produced by CSM Events in Charlotte.

"The Welcome To Las Vegas Sign is one of the most iconic images of our destination and is recognized around the world," said Rossi Ralenkotter, CEO of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. "We are excited to have the sign promoting Las Vegas throughout the NASCAR season as part of our great partnership with Speedway Motorsports and Las Vegas Motor Speedway."

The Las Vegas sign is one of an array of new fun and interactive features NASCAR fans can experience in LVMS's fan-engagement area. The ever-changing interactive area is a favorite among race fans who visit the 1.5-mile speedway year after year.

"Our fan-engagement area is a wonderful place for fans to enjoy a number of activities and displays, and it will be great having the world-famous Welcome To Las Vegas sign as a big part of it all," LVMS President Chris Powell said. "We appreciate the LVCVA's efforts to promote our city and our speedway, both here and around the world, and I know that NASCAR fans will thoroughly enjoy having the chance to take their photos in front of the sign during our tripleheader weekend, as well as at many other races around the country."

A popular Las Vegas landmark located in the median at 5100 Las Vegas Blvd. South, the welcome sign was funded in 1959, designed by Betty Willis and erected by Western Neon. Standing 25 feet tall, the sign is on the State Register of Historic Places and is frequently modeled into one of the most popular souvenirs of the "Entertainment Capital of the World."

LVMS' first tripleheader of the year begins on Friday, March 2, with Stratosphere Qualifying and the Stratosphere 200 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race, continues with the Boyd Gaming 300 NASCAR Xfinity Series race on Saturday, March 3, and concludes with the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Pennzoil 400 presented by Jiffy Lube on Sunday, March 4.
