Las Vegas driver Chris Clyne used a weekend sweep of the NASCAR Super Late Models races at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Hometown Heroes Night to widen his points lead heading into the season's third racing weekend.
The 16-time Bullring race winner added 10 points to his advantage over six-time track champion Scott Gafforini in the LVMS short track's premier class and holds a 114-98 lead going into the April 20 event. Johnny Spilotro is third with 88 points, with David Anderson holding down fourth at 85 and his father, Steve, in fifth with 79.
Doug Hamm (NASCAR 602 Modifieds) and Sam Jacks (NASCAR Super Stocks) also won features on Saturday night to add to their leads, with Hamm now holding a 76-68 margin over Brian Reed and Jacks leading Matt Larsen 78-65. Reigning NASCAR Bombers division champion Vinny Raucci Jr. climbed to within one of Kyle Jacks' lead, 72-71, with a win of his own, and Jaron Giannini overtook the USLCI Legends points standings and leads Dylan Fabozzi 67-63.
R.J. Smotherman leads Jaden Walbridge 37-35 in the Jr. Late Models standings after Saturday's win, while defending Skid Plate Cars champion Cindy Clark moved into a tie with Dennis Dowell at 64 points atop that division. Saturday's feature winner, Scott Stockwell, is third with 62.
Landon Gresser's USLCI Bandolero Outlaws triumph pulled him to within four points of leader Chloe Lynch, and Sabastian Lafia added three points to his divisional lead and holds a 68-60 advantage over James Starcher heading into race No. 3. The Thunder Cars division did not run over the weekend and will be back in action on Friday, April 19.
